IHRIM – Our Response to the Coronavirus Situation

Friends of IHRIM:

Like so many of you, we have spent the last several days and weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world. From school closures to travel bans to event cancellations, it is clear that the virus must be taken seriously and IHRIM is committed to understanding how it affects our staff, partners, volunteers, and members.

The highest priority is everyone’s safety and well-being. Please familiarize yourself with recommendations from authorities such as the WHO and CDC and take a moment to support individuals and families in your communities who might need a little extra help at this difficult time.

IHRIM is staffed largely by volunteers who are not physically co-located. As such, we expect to continue operations without significant disruption (to the best of our knowledge at this time). For example, all of our virtual education programs are still open for registration and we will continue to deliver HRIP certifications. We are also speaking with the organizers of upcoming, in-person, events to determine an appropriate course of action.

We are fully aware that many of you are in professional & personal “crisis mode” as you respond to the ever-changing situation – whether working remotely rather than in the office, scrambling to secure child-care as schools are closed, or restricting your participation in local events – and we wish to offer our support to you at this difficult time. If there is anything that IHRIM can do to help make life just a little easier for you, please contact us.

Thank you!
