Letter from the Chair

Our remarkable journey from the tumultuous times of COVID to the ever-evolving “new normal” has taken a momentous leap as IHRIM joined forces with HR Executive to host the HR Technology Conference & Expo in the vibrant city of Las Vegas last month. This conference stands as a testament to the dedication and innovation within the HR industry. The event was a resounding success, with numerous IHRIM members, including many HRIP-certified professionals, serving as presenters. Our reception room became a hub of networking and camaraderie, where attendees picked up the coveted IHRIM lapel pins and exclusive swag. Workforce Solutions Review magazines graced every corner, and many attendees used the pre-published and complimentary HR Technology Glossary well.

It was a privilege to see a substantial portion of the IHRIM Board in attendance, engaging in meaningful discussions with hundreds of vendors and practitioners, both one-on-one and during our IHRIM-exclusive tours. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate our collaboration with ETC, our event coordinator, for their upcoming virtual conference in a few months, the European conference scheduled for the spring in Amsterdam, and a return to Las Vegas in September.

As we approach the culmination of this year, please mark your calendars for our Annual Membership Meeting, set for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 7 PM ET. You can access the meeting’s agenda and preregistration details through the IHRIM website and our social media channels, with a special focus on LinkedIn.

The exceptional content in our flagship e-zine publication, WSR, has powered our journey to this point. It comprises four remarkable issues that have enriched our community’s knowledge base. Moreover, our member-exclusive webinars and huddles have fostered a sense of belonging and learning among our members. The surge in interest and applications for HRIP certification is a testament to IHRIM’s value to the HR technology space.

The Technology Review Council presentations, a collaborative effort with Collective HR Solutions, witnessed the participation of hundreds, further underlining the importance of IHRIM’s contributions. We also forged valuable partnerships with The Influence Board, a platform facilitating efficient one-on-one meetings between buyers and suppliers, and Consortium DeHR, a global community co-founded with the Australian-based Competitive Edge Technology, dedicated to emerging HR Technologies in the Web3 era.

As a forward-thinking provider of educational programs, IHRIM continued to offer the HRIP Certification Exam course, Introduction to HR Technology, and introduced a new course on Human Capital in M&As, set to recommence on January 17, 2024. For a comprehensive list of our career-enriching activities and educational programs for HR Technology Professionals, please refer to our website, newsletters, and social media.

Lastly, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude, not only on my behalf but on behalf of our entire community, to those who generously volunteered their time to support their HR Technology peers in 2023. This includes our dedicated board and committee members, instructors, authors, editors, advisors, and all who stood by IHRIM’s side. We urge you to consider becoming more involved in 2024 and contribute your skills, expertise, and passion to further our profession. The demand for volunteers and professionals seeking broader connections and HR Technology problem-solvers, especially HRIP certificate holders, has never been greater. Whether you can dedicate a little or a lot of your time, every minute spent with IHRIM counts and makes a difference to thousands.

With immense gratitude and excitement for the future,

Dennis Hill
