Flow Chart
Simple diagrams that map out a process, so that you can easily communicate it to other people. You can also use them to define and analyze a process, build a step-by-step picture of it, and define, standardize or improve it.
Foreign Key
It represents the primary key from one table that is stored as an attribute in another table. It is used as a common key in both tables to form relationships for the data in the two tables.
Framework
A skeletal structure of components and objects and provides plug-in points and sockets for integration and interchangeability.
Full-Time Equivalent
This is a way to measure worked time as a fraction of a full time worker. An FTE of 1.0 means that the person is equivalent to a full-time worker, while an FTE of 0.5 signals that the worker is only half-time.
Functional Decomposition
A technique that involves analyzing a working system and then breaking it down into separate and discrete objects.
Functional Requirements Specification
The document that describes the functional features needed in a software product. The document usually results from a study of users requirements.
Functionality
The collective term describing what a system does: That is, the different types of functions a component is expected to perform as part of a business operation, such as create, update, manipulate, report or delete data.
Gamification
In an employment or HR context, gamification refers to a process of making systems, processes or other employment related activities more enjoyable and motivating through game design elements.
Gantt Chart
A bar chart that is used to illustrate a project schedule. It provides a graphical representation of the duration of tasks against the progression of time in a project.
Gap Analysis
The difference between the current state and the desired future state. Gap analysis consists of listing the characteristics of the present situation ("what is"), listing the future state ("what should be"), and identifying the gaps that exist and need to be filled.
