IHRIM
2014
Call for
Presentations
Thank you for your interest in presenting at the IHRIM 2014 Conference. The Call for Presentations is now closed.
You are invited to submit a proposal to share your experience and expertise
with your colleagues at the IHRIM 2014 Conference which will be held June
1-4, 2014 at the Anaheim Marriott, Anaheim, CA. The focus of these
sessions is intended to be educational in nature and
are not meant to showcase or
promote a presenter or company’s services or product offerings.
Session length is 60 minutes (we recommend you allow 45 minutes for
the presentation and 15 minutes for Q & A).
IHRIM is looking for a mix of educational sessions that address new
technologies, HR systems strategy, and the effective application of HR
technology and HR information management programs in organizations of all
sizes and industries. Of particular interest are presentations focusing on
issues facing today's HR systems practitioner.
You may submit more than one proposal and a separate form
is required for each. Each should represent discrete
material that is
unique from other presentations in which you propose to participate. The
presentation must not include any copywrited information which cannot be
shared with the IHRIM audience after the conference.
The selection of presentations
is based on the quality of the abstract, presenter
(not company) credentials, relevance to HR information management
and technology, and fit within the
overall program agenda. To avoid
any appearance that IHRIM is being partial to a specific company,
the number of presenters from a single company is limited to two (2), based
on the company at time of selection. The selection process also limits
to one (1) as the number of times an individual will be chosen through
the Call for Presentations. Individuals may not submit or appear on more
than two proposals. However, a presenter may be later selected to also
participate as a part of a panel or as a facilitator in an Open Forum.
Before
you begin to complete the online Call for Presentations form, it is
recommended you
review the
2014 Call for Presentations
Submission Instructions.
Be sure to complete the entire form once you begin entering your
information as you will not be able to save the proposal and return to it
later. (You may want to draft your information in Word or Notepad,
edit, and copy and paste into the online form when ready to submit.)
How
Are Presentations Selected?
To ensure that a balanced array of the best presentations are offered, all
submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by a peer review committee of
accomplished professionals from human resources information
management, using the criteria described below. For more information
on the selection process, please download the
Session Submission Instructions.
All completed proposals received before the deadline will be reviewed with
specific criteria, including:
-
Relevance to IHRIM conference attendees
-
A well-defined topic with focused objectives
-
Practical application of material
-
Timeliness to current issues
-
Originality of material
-
Presenter qualifications
-
Absence of sales pitch
IHRIM encourages senior level
presenters as well as case studies with practitioner representation.
Everyone submitting a proposal will receive e-mail
notification by October 18, 2013.
Due
to the large number of proposals received, we cannot specifically list
reasons why a proposal was not accepted.
Deadline:
Submit the completed Proposal Submission Form no later than
Wednesday,
August 28, 2013.

design and deployment of Human Resource technology and service delivery
models for the enterprise and how organizations can ensure that the
technology and the business strategies align.

key factors when considering a HR technology solution and the sharing of
best practices aimed at keeping systems plans on track and successful.
Innovations in HR Technology

an understanding on how to implement them within Human Resources. Topics may
include new ways that organizations have used technology to solve a problem
or unique best practices that clearly demonstrate innovation and positive
organizational benefits.

These sessions highlight practitioner case studies and may spotlight HR
applications (e.g., CORE HR, compensation, learning, etc.) at a holistic
level but can also focus on solutions for specific industries and different
platforms (e.g., applications in the cloud). Topics may include lessons
learned, challenges faced, and insights gained from real-world
implementations. Attendees will learn how HR systems and solutions have
helped organizations solve problems, contain costs, and deliver value to the
business.

and operations, and facilitate communications and collaboration.
Topics may include developing apps for mobile devices, the use of social
media for successful recruitment, use of in-house intranet software,
crowdsourcing, and creating policies related to the use of social media and
mobile devices.
The People Factor Successful HR systems organizations rely
on people to support the innovation, growth, and ongoing support of their
technology investments. These sessions focus on the people side
of management, from transforming the way people work and influencing an
organization’s culture to team management/collaboration, problem solving,
and leadership skills.
