Creating a 3-5 Year Technology Strategy

Every organization should create a formal documented strategic plan that defines the steps and timeline to meet the objectives and goals of the organization’s HR technology strategy. Without this in place, many organizations put pieces together in an ad hoc manner which results in incompatible systems and greater costs to evaluate and select replacement systems across an organization. The HR Technology Strategic Plan is the embodiment of an organization’s goals and objectives (the corporate business plan) and the HR and IT strategic plans that support the meeting of these goals and objectives. With the completion of a HR Technology Strategic Plan, your organization should have: (1) A strategy, vision and objectives for Human Resources technology, (2) A technology strategic plan and a validation of your technology strategy to support your plans (should we buy more modules from our ERP vendor, buy a TMS suite, or acquire individual best of breed components?), (3) A timeline and plan for HCM software purchases and (4) An established solid framework for decision-making and setting priorities on software implementations.

You’ll learn:

  • What an HR technology strategy encompasses

  • Why an HR technology strategy is critical in any organization

  • How to develop an HR technology strategy for your company

Topics covered include:

  • Facilitated Discovery – Reviewing related strategies, process maps and incumbent systems

  • Developing your strategy, vision and objectives for HR technology

  • Building the business case to support the HR technology strategy

  • Gaining executive consensus on the HR technology strategy

  • Creating the long-term governance model to support the HR technology strategy

This course is designed for:

  • HR Practitioners

  • HRIS Analysts/Managers/Directors

  • HR Executives

  • CIOs/Senior IT Executives

  • CEOs
