HRIP Certification Exam Overview

The Human Resource Information Professional (HRIP) Certification examination is comprised of multiple-choice questions. (The Published Exam contains approximately 75 questions.) The multiple choice format is considered the most effective for use in standardized tests. Computer-based testing (CBT) is the standard method of administration for HRIP examinations and is the method of delivery at Kryterion Testing Centers and at IHRIM hosted exams.

The allotted time to complete the published exam is ninety (90) minutes. It may take some credential candidates less than the allotted time to complete the examination.

Examination Blueprints

The HRIP examination is developed based on the examination blueprint. The blueprint details the percentages of questions contained in each Domain. Please refer to the Examination Blueprint for more details.

Examination Options

IHRIM offers three delivery methods to accommodate individuals (as well as groups) to take the exam, including conveniently located testing centers around the world, live proctoring that allows candidates to take the exam wherever and whenever is most convenient, and via client hosted locations.

Test Exam Centers:
There are over 600 Kryterion exam centers worldwide today; search for locations in your area.  When registering for an exam, you have access to a locator that allows you to find a center and time that is convenient for you.  Look for preferred location by country, province/state, city or by postal code and a list of available testing centers will be displayed. Choose the facility you prefer and, once selected, the date and time of the exam.

Online Proctored Exam (OLP):
Candidates wishing to take the exam through OLP delivery will be required to meet the technical specifications for compatibility and comply with all online testing security requirements.  Download the OLP test taker instructions and preparation.

Payment Methods

Fees in U.S. currency are due at the time of the online application submission. Applicants may pay by VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

Once your payment is received, we will send you an email notification with instructions on how to log into Kryterion and schedule your exam.  Included in the email will be a voucher number you will need for exam scheduling.  Note: The voucher numbers will be different for the Practice Exam and the Published Exam.

IHRIM Member Rate

To receive the reduced IHRIM member rate, candidates must have a current IHRIM membership at the time the application is submitted. If IHRIM membership is obtained after you submit payment for the HRIP examination, IHRIM will not refund the difference.
